Welcome to the World of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2!
Dear fighter, ever wanted to fight alongside Goku, Vegeta, or Trunks? Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 gives you the perfect opportunity! Released by Bandai Namco, this fan-favored game offers explosive combat and custom characters alongside classic Dragon Ball stories, all wrapped in an ever-expanding online world.

In the meantime, with brand new DLC like the Dragon Ball DAIMA Pack and Future Saga Chapters 3&4 there’s never been a better time to jump in.
Step 1: Select Your Race and Create Your Hero
First task? Make your own time patroller. Choose from 5 iconic Dragon Ball races — each with its own characteristics and transformations:
| Race | Highlights | Playstyle |
|---|---|---|
| Saiyan | Massive attack boosts and Super Saiyan forms | Aggressive, high-risk battles |
| Human | Balanced stats, fast Ki regeneration | Perfect for beginners |
| Namekian | High defense and stamina | Great for tank builds |
| Majin | Tough and resilient | Strong defense, slower recovery |
| Frieza Race | Fastest mobility, Golden Form | Hit-and-run specialists |
If you’re a beginner, choose Saiyan or Human as starting race. They have nice power growth and their playing style is balanced.
Step 2: Master the Combat Flow
Combat in Xenoverse 2 is fast, cinematic, and sometimes a bit confusing-in a good way. You’ll chain light and heavy attacks, teleport behind enemies, and fire off energy blasts that fill up the entire screen.
Some quick tips for smoother fights:
- Combine light (□/X) and heavy (△/Y) attacks to make dynamic combos.
- Watch your Stamina bar—reaching zero leaves you open to big troubles.
- Practice your Vanish timing in order to dodge fatal ultimates.
- Practice your Super and Ultimate attacks you learn from mentors.
If you train with Goku or Vegeta in the early stages, you can gain both melee skills and Ki-based skills that you’ll rely on later.
Step 3: Unlocking Transformations
Each race gets its own evolution path — here’s what you can aim for:
- Saiyan: Super Saiyan → Super Saiyan Blue → Beast
- Frieza Race: Golden Form
- Majin: Purification
- Namekian: Giant Form
- All Races: Potential Unleashed (and now Beast Form with certain DLCs!)
In some circumstances, obtaining these transformations will require mentor missions, parallel quests, or wishes from Shenron – so go search the whole world!

Step 4: Explore Conton City
Think of Conton City as your Dragon Ball playground. You can go there to:
- Buy skills, clothes, and accessories
- Train under iconic mentors like Gohan, Piccolo, and Whis
- Join online lobbies for co-op or PvP battles
- Find hidden Time Rifts and bonus quests
Don’t rush past NPCs because they often have secret tasks or a message that will open up new features later.
Step 5: Parallel Quests = Your Best Friend
To make progress in Xenoverse 2, Parallel Quests (PQs) must play a big role. They give you experience and rare skills, and perhaps even Ultimate Attacks such as Final Flash or Spirit Sword.
Secret tips:
- Replay PQs to farm Z-Ranks for better drops.
- Build custom teams (e.g., Goku + Piccolo for balance).
- Some hidden objectives only trigger under specific conditions — like finishing with a certain move.
Step 6: Leveling and Stat Builds
Whenever you level up, you’ll get Attribute points and you need to distribute them carefully:
- Melee Fighter: Strike Attack + Stamina
- Energy Fighter: Ki + Ki Blast Supers
- Defensive Build: Health + Stamina
Do experiment as much as possible! You can always reset your stats later with Dragon Balls.
Step 7: Multiplayer and Events
Once you get on the single-player missions, the real fun really starts online
These are the Modes worth trying:
- Raids: Team up against giant bosses like Jiren or Cell Max.
- Tournaments: Test your skill in ranked PvP.
- Photo Mode & Fashion Events: For those who care about style (and who doesn’t?).
Raids mode offer their players exclusive items, outfits and Super Souls which can’t get anywhere else.

Step 8: The Future Saga & the Dragon Ball DAIMA Pack
Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 keeps on growing, even after its initial release on October 25, 2016.
The newest additions, part of the Future Saga, take the story on to new timelines and new battlefields.
Latest DLC News:
- DLC Name: Dragon Ball DAIMA Pack
- Saga: Future Saga — Chapters 3 & 4
- Release Date: October 30, 2025

- Playable characters from Dragon Ball DAIMA
- Added skills, outfits, and parallel quests
It’s the biggest content drop ever which bridges generations of Dragon Ball fans.
Step 9: Final Tips for Time Patrollers
Before you take off, we have few more suggestions to make life easier in Conton City:
- Be sure to have plenty of healing items on hand (Capsule S or higher).
- Change mentors often in order to learn rare skills.
- Summon Shenron with your wishes — reset stats, get more playable characters, or create extra slots.
- Use Super Souls to suit your gaming style (such as quicker Ki charge or an increase in damage).
The Journey Starts
Whether you’re seeking the perfect combo, farming the ultimate skill or just hanging out in Conton City for whatever, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 offers you an exciting Dragon Ball world to grow in. And with the scaling of Future Saga under way as well as upcoming DLCs happening soon, one thing is clear that the timeline still needs you. So charge up, Time Patroller. The fate of history and your next transformation are in your hands.
